Police: Bad choices for driver


What started as a possible impaired driver turned into a mitt full of charges and a jail sentence.  On March 6 in the evening, a concerned citizen thought the driver of a rental car may be impaired so they called the police.  North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP officers attended to investigate. The suspected impaired driver parked his vehicle but when confronted by police jumped back in and fled the scene.  Police were able to catch up to him and two women later in a residence he shouldn’t have been in.The Police Dog Services unit was able to track the trio to the residence.

Ryan James Snow, 26, was taken into custody and appeared before a judge, charged and convicted of Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Fail to Comply With Recognizance and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.  Mr. Snow crashed the vehicle he was in and he and his two female passengers took off on foot.  He received a four-month sentence.

Also facing charges for unlawfully in a dwelling house are Donna Dafoe, 39, and Alyshia Quigley, 25.
